Happy 80th Birthday,
Dad!

On February 14th, Barb's dad, Walt, celebrated his 80th birthday!
We drove over the following weekend for a family party.

 |
|
Dad wanted the gang to go bowling, then lunch at Fuddruckers. We had great fun!

Here's some of the best photos - from Walt, Darel & Shannon, and us.

In addition to the Hane family, Laurel's sister, Karen and her husband, Chris, joined us,

Next, it was burgers and birthday cake at Fuddruckers! We also celebrated Jerry's February 18th and Shannon's March 5th birthdays.

Other highlights of our trip...
Friday night we stayed with Sean & Laurie. They treated us to a perch fry from their fishing trip that day near Fort Collins. Luckily, they caught 40 perch because those fillets - though tasty - aren't very big. It took 2 beers for Sean & Steve to fillet them all!

As we drove into Evergreen, we were surprised to see this white yearling deer!

We started our drive back home Sunday afternoon, but had to turn back to Evergreen due to snowy winter roads! Monday was a much prettier day, but we had to turn around again - since Kenosha Pass was closed. We went back to Pine, down to Deckers, then Hwy 24 over to Hwy 285 south of where the highway was still closed from Kenosha to Hartsel due to blowing snow. We still saw our share of ground blizzards on Hwy 24!

The top of Monarch Pass - 11,312' elevation. Would you believe that is the gift shop under that pile of snow?!
