Barb & Steve's Trip to Texas

About 35 years ago, Steve ventured way south from Kankakee, Illinois to McAllen, TX (just north of the Mexico border). He spent two summers living with the Offerman family and working for Verne Offerman on his newspaper. Their daughter, Dale, was in high school and son, Bill, would have been about 12.
Here is Steve enjoying the patio with Gin and Dale at their River Walk home.

Maria has lived with the family for 50 years as their house keeper. She is a great cook! Steve loves Maria's Sopa de Arroz and soft tacos.

Gin and Dale took us across the border one day for lots of fun in Nuevo Progresso, Mexico!
|
|
|
|
Among our many wonderful purchases in Mexico, Barb bought a cowboy hat. Everyone had to try it on!
Here's a couple "bag ladies" eating potato chips in their sombreros right out of the bag instead of putting the chips in a bowl!
