Barb's New Dock
and
Steve's Redneck Patio!

Ever since we first dug the pond in 2001, Barb has wanted a dock. Unfortunately, we filled the "hole" with water before constructing a dock! Finally, 6 years later, Barb ordered a floating dock from Connect-A-Dock.

The components were delivered by truck on a pallet. |
 |
|
Barb hauled the components back to the pond
via ATV using Steve's new elk-retrieval trailer.
The large dock sections weigh 86 pounds each.
Then she lifted the rocks out of the way
and dug out the bank.

|
|
The two 60" sections and one 30" section connect with connector blocks that bolt on, as well as pole connectors on the sides for anchoring the dock.
|
|
|
YIPPEE! First 2 sections are in place - and without Barb floating out to the middle of the pond!
|
|

Now, to attach the 3rd section and hide that foot valve for the sprinkler system underneath the dock. |
 |
|
All done! Now, a little clean up
and haul off the mud and grass
Barb dug out of the bank.

From the dock we can reach the "seaweed"
that needs to be thinned out.
"Salad anyone?"

Time to celebrate! |

Uh-oh!
"Dad pushed me off the dock
so I'm going to sit back here
and not look at him
(even though I do love
to swim in the pond)!"
