New England Quilt Museum & New Hampshire

1st Day - we had to have our bags outside our rooms by 7:30 am and the bus pulled away at 8:45 am.
Our tour consisted of 53 women and 1 man - Rene, our French Canadian bus driver. We came from the 4 corners of the US, even Alaska, as well as Canada & England. There were 6 pairs of mothers & daughters!

Vicki Pitts, our tour director, entertained us and gave us lots of great information about the states and sites we visited. She also taught us the definition of Team Effort: "a lot of people doing what [she] says!"

Lowell, MA - New England Quilt Museum (Unfortunately, we couldn't take any photos inside.)
We also visited the Lowell National Historic Park. Founded in the 1820s, Lowell was America's first site of industry with cotton mills producing millions of yards of cloth.

Then we crossed into New Hampshire and headed to Mason for a 5 course luncheon at Pickity Place.
When we peeked inside this 200 year-old shingled cottage surrounded by country gardens, we saw the Big Bad Wolf peering from under the bed quilt. This is the original artist’s setting for the 1948 Golden Book version of Little Red Riding Hood.
