ATV Trip to Buckhorn Lakes

Doug & Julie Barger left from their house and we left from our's and all met at the intersection of Uncompahgre & Buckhorn Roads for our latest ATV adventure.
It was a 35 mile & 7 hour round trip including fishing, sightseeing and picnicing time.

The wild flowers were all over as we climbed up to Buckhorn Lakes. We could smell their fragrance as we rode!

|
|
|
|
|
We enjoyed a picnic by the upper lake among aspen trees.
Then the boys did a little fishing.
|
|
|
|
We had fun maneuvering the bumps and ruts around the lakes!
|
|
|
|
Doug had a little "mishap" trying to climb the steep hill in the photo below. As a result, the ATV rolled back a ways into these aspen tree. (See the scrape on the tree to the left in the middle clump?)

|
|
Here was the view we enjoyed as we wound through the oakbrush-lined road on the way down.
It was another fun trip & beautiful day!
